I feel this course is relevant for many individuals … including personal trainers, chiropractors, athletic trainers and team coaches and more and not only in soccer, but also in related areas such as football, basketball, hockey and even cheerleading. Can also work with park district with teams.
As a prior team coach often times we concentrated our efforts on the How to Play rather than How to Prepare to Play. While reviewing the course I realized that approximately 1.3 million children are injured each year from sports-related accidents. Therefore, it is not enough to build a winner; there must also be relevance between an individual action and a team objective.
Most sports-related injuries are not only predictable but also preventable. Adequate conditioning and training of the athletes can avoid most. This is accomplished in the course through the development of “age appropriate” programs. – Ronald J. Adams, Master Personal Trainer, WITS Certified Professional
This course was extremely informative and very in depth!! It included everything from proper warm-ups, training, stretches and common injuries as well as treatment. It was laid out very well, easy to follow and very interesting.
This course gave me a much better understanding of soccer as a sport and the athleticism required to play well and avoid injuries. When injuries do occur, this course gave detailed information on how to handle those injuries.
At the club I work at, students are required to participate in team sports. Soccer is one of the common sports teenagers choose to play. This course was really helpful to me. The drills and specific stretches will definitely be useful. The QuickTime videos give clear depictions of various aspects of soccer (warm-ups, drills, etc).
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone in the Personal Training field and other professionals. – Alejandra H Prill, Physical Therapy Coordinator, ACE Certified Professional
